Overview As Development Underwriter, you will assess and underwrite complex High Net Worth, Household and Property risks, with a focus on thatched and non-standard properties. You will build and manage broker relationships while growing a specialist portfolio within a growing MGA.
You will apply strong technical underwriting to drive profitable growth and develop opportunities in a niche segment. This role offers the chance to deepen expertise in a uniquely challenging area and contribute to the teams strategic expansion.
Responsibilities Underwrite complex HNW, household and property risks, including thatched and non-standard properties Develop and manage broker relationships to source and trade new business Support growth and profitability of the specialist portfolio Apply strong technical underwriting knowledge to assess risk and pricing Collaborate with the MGA to align with strategic goals and market opportunities Key requirements Previous underwriting experience within High Net Worth, Household or Property insurance Exposure to non-standard or thatched property risks is advantageous Strong broker relationship and trading skills Good technical underwriting knowledge Commercial mindset with the ability to develop new business opportunities strong communication and relationship-building commercial mindset attention to detail technical underwriting knowledge risk assessment and pricing portfolio growth and management
