DevOps Engineer Contract DevOps Engineer

Overview As a Contract DevOps Engineer, you will help build and maintain scalable, automated cloud-native platforms in a secure environment. You will work with a high-performing team to improve reliability, security and delivery performance across the software lifecycle.

The role focuses on AWS, Kubernetes, IaC and CI/CD automation to enable fast, robust deployments. This position offers remote work with monthly onsite presence in Romsey and requires active SC clearance. You will drive best practices and shape deployment workflows to support mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities Design, build and support AWS-based infrastructure and platform services Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and Packer Build, optimise and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes Implement and support GitOps deployment methodologies using ArgoCD Package and manage Kubernetes deployments through Helm Administer and support Rancher-managed Kubernetes environments Manage artefact repositories and release workflows using JFrog Artifactory Develop tooling, automation and integrations using Python Implement monitoring, alerting and observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry Promote engineering best practices, including Conventional Commits and robust release management processes Troubleshoot platform, infrastructure and deployment issues across development and production environments Work closely with developers, architects and stakeholders to improve platform reliability, security and delivery performance Key requirements AWS Terraform Packer Docker Kubernetes Rancher Helm GitLab CI/CD ArgoCD JFrog Artifactory Conventional Commits Python Grafana Prometheus OpenTelemetry Active SC Clearance Experience with CI/CD and GitOps Experience in secure or government environments (Desirable) collaboration stakeholder communication problem-solving AWS Terraform Packer
