As Director of Data Engineering [RWD] , you'll be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for enabling Parexel's real-world data movement within the Enterprise Data Lake and delivering standardized operational data products across clinical, safety, and corporate domains.

You'll partner with our Data and Technology teams, Data and Analytics Center of Excellence, and business stakeholders to ensure trusted, high-quality, well-governed data with consistent definitions and reliable movement across the enterprise.

What You'll LeadData Lake Engineering & StrategyContribute to the strategy, design, and roadmap for our lakehouse architecture based on medallion principles that supports reporting and analytics aligned to operational, clinical, financial, and safety needsDirect engineering activities across data ingestion, transformation, storage, and optimization within the Enterprise Data LakeOversee performance, quality, reliability, security, and lifecycle management of data in the lake environmentEnsure scalable engineering pipelines across data domains, that align with governance requirementsDelivery Excellence & Cross-Functional LeadershipServe as a subject matter expert in data delivery, aligning data products and services with organizational prioritiesDirect cross-functional prioritization and delivery processes to ensure cohesive, timely outcomesChampion transparency and communication of data technology roadmaps across the organizationTeam Leadership & Organizational DevelopmentBuild, mentor, and direct global data engineering teams to deliver excellenceChampion capability development in cloud engineering, Databricks, CI/CD, SQL, and PythonPromote a culture of innovation, operational rigor, and customer-focused deliveryWhat We're Looking ForExperience & Track Record12+ years of IT experience developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise integration services and platforms across multiple hardware and software environments, with substantial expertise in emerging computing architecturesExposure to Real World Data in the clinical/medical spaceExperience with GxP regulations in a life sciences environment advantageous8+ years leading teams in data delivery management and execution, including major projects in data management, data integration, and analyticsAt least 6 years of management experience, including: Successfully developing and implementing applications in new computing architecture environments using innovative technologiesManaging technical personnel across multiple project lifecycle phases with cross-functional experienceManaging financial resources to achieve goals across multiple projectsDeveloping efficient and effective solutions to complex business challengesTechnical ExpertiseExtensive experience implementing and supporting enterprise data initiatives on cloud platformsDemonstrated expertise in data and cloud platforms, particularly Azure DatabricksSignificant experience with medallion architecture-based data lake implementationsAdvanced proficiency in SQL querying and query tuning (mandatory)Proficiency in modern data management and data-sharing tools, programming languages (especially Python), relational databases, data transformation, and development frameworksDeep understanding of architectural best practices, application design, and estimation processesThorough knowledge of application architectures and enterprise application ecosystemsEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (required)If you're an experienced data engineering leader with a passion for building scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions, we'd love to hear from you.
