About your new roleWe are currently recruiting for Solicitor, Cilex or Associate or an experienced Paralegal within our Disease litigation team based predominantly out of one of our offices in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool or Leicester.

The team has a strong presence across all of the offices and undertakes a full range of industrial disease work, predominantly on behalf of large insurer clients as well as for some self-insured corporate clients. You will be required to manage your own caseload of litigated noise induced hearing loss, HAVS and/or asbestos-related injury claims.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established and experienced team handling a variety of work working with all levels of fee earner. Main duties and responsibilitiesManage a caseload of litigated NIHL, HAVS/WRULD and/or asbestos-related injury claims claims effectively, efficiently and with minimal supervisionDraft full strategy reports and advicesUndertake legal research and investigationsDraft pleadingsAttend conferences, court and client meetingsCommunicate with clients, counsel and other partiesInvolvement in business development, client relationship management and profile-raising initiatives as well as alignment to relevant segment/sector groupsComplete client and internal MI proceduresAchieve set financial and chargeable targetsEnsure relevant deadlines, quality measures, SLAs and KPIs are adhered toComply with relevant policies and proceduresWork in accordance with Weightmans' valuesThis list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role. #LI-KA1 #LI-KA1 About YouIdeally, you will have previous experience of NIHL, HAVS/WRULD and asbestos-related injury claims, either handling or assisting.

As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. It would be preferable but not essential for you to have/be: A qualified Solicitor (NQ to Associate level considered)Extensive litigation experience with proven technical ability and record of achievementAbility to work to deadlines / targets, to prioritise and manage a caseload and deliver effective solutionsAbility to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative with a positive attitudeA commercial, solution-driven and client-focused approachStrong legal and analytical skills with an eye for detailExcellent organisation and time-management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsFlexible approach and agile workingExcellent IT skillExperience of previous involvement with business development activitiesIf you meet our criteria and think this is a job where you could bring enthusiasm and commitment, then we look forward to receiving your application.
