DRAINAGE ENGINEER

Overview

In this role you will independently lead drainage design projects within a growing civils team. You’ll shape drainage strategies, FRAs, and related works across varied sectors, delivering technically robust solutions. You’ll prepare reports and planning applications, while liaising with clients and contractors to ensure budgets and schedules are met. This is a hands-on, client-facing position in a UK consultancy, offering autonomy and opportunities to impact major schemes.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver drainage strategies and FRA works
• Prepare technical reports, drainage strategies, and planning/consent applications
• Manage projects to programme and budget with autonomy
• Liaise with clients, contractors and other professionals
• Take ownership from initial design through to completion
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver diverse schemes up to £150m

Key requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering
• Solid UK consultancy experience in drainage and infrastructure design
• Chartered or working towards Chartership
• Experience with AutoCAD, InfoDrainage and Civils 3D
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage own workload and deliver to programme
