What You'll Be Doing
As Ecommerce Manager Japan, you will take ownership of Japan's digital trading performance and customer journey, ensuring best-in-class ecommerce execution.
Key Responsibilities
Ecommerce Strategy & GrowthDevelop and execute the ecommerce growth strategy for the Japan marketDrive revenue growth, conversion optimisation, and customer acquisition initiativesIdentify new commercial opportunities to increase online sales performanceWebsite Trading & MerchandisingManage day-to-day trading performance across the Japanese ecommerce platformOptimise product merchandising, site navigation, and landing pagesBuild promotional calendars aligned with seasonal campaigns and product launchesPerformance Marketing CollaborationPartner closely with paid media, CRM, SEO, and affiliate teams to maximise traffic and ROIAlign digital marketing campaigns with ecommerce sales objectivesSupport customer retention and loyalty strategiesCustomer Experience OptimisationContinuously improve website UX and customer purchase journeyAnalyse user behaviour and identify friction points impacting conversionImplement A/B testing and conversion rate optimisation initiativesData & Performance AnalysisMonitor daily, weekly, and monthly ecommerce KPIsAnalyse website traffic, customer behaviour, conversion funnel, and campaign performanceProduce insights and recommendations to improve commercial performanceMarket & Localisation ManagementEnsure all ecommerce content and campaigns are fully localised for Japanese consumersMonitor local market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferencesCollaborate with global teams to adapt international strategies for the local marketWhat We're Looking ForRequired Experience:4+ years experience in ecommerce, digital trading, or online retail managementProven track record driving online revenue growth in ecommerce businessesStrong understanding of ecommerce KPIs including conversion rate, AOV, CAC, retention, and ROASExperience managing website merchandising and digital trading calendarsStrong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics, Shopify, Adobe Analytics, or similar platformsExperience working cross-functionally with marketing, CRM, and product teamsNative or fluent Japanese language skillsStrong business-level English communication skillsPreferred: Experience working in health, fitness, beauty, lifestyle, or FMCG brandsExperience in DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) ecommerce brandsUnderstanding of Japanese digital consumer behaviour and local ecommerce trendsExperience with CRO, A/B testing, and UX optimisationWhat You'll BringCommercial mindset with strong revenue ownership mentalityData-driven decision-making skillsEntrepreneurial attitude with strong problem-solving abilityPassion for ecommerce innovation and digital growthAbility to thrive in a fast-moving international environmentStrong stakeholder management and leadership skillsWhat's in it for me?
