ntermediate Electrical Design Engineer Location: Manchester Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based Industry: Water & Wastewater Were currently working with a leading engineering business operating across the UK water and wastewater sector, who are looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing design team.
This is a great opportunity for an electrical engineer with around 35 years design experience who is looking to develop their technical career while working on a range of water and wastewater projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, youll be responsible for producing high-quality electrical design deliverables and supporting projects from concept through to construction.
Your responsibilities will include
Producing electrical designs in line with safety, quality and client requirements Preparing electrical calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications Developing LV electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment projects Working closely with CAD technicians to produce accurate and coordinated drawings Liaising with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, legislation and client specifications Supporting design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering activities Managing design changes throughout project delivery Attending client, supplier and internal design meetings Continuing to develop your technical knowledge through mentoring, CPD and professional development Were looking for someone with: A Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline 35 years electrical design experience within the UK water industry Experience producing LV electrical designs for water or wastewater treatment projects Good knowledge of relevant British Standards and water industry design practices Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment A full UK driving licence It would also be beneficial if you have experience with: ICA, control systems or telemetry ATEX design principles Amtech, Trimble ProDesign or similar electrical design software BIM processes and Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction Cloud Working towards IEng or CEng status This is an excellent opportunity to join an established engineering team and work on a variety of projects within the UK water and wastewater sector, with plenty of scope for continued technical and professional development.
