Job Description ntermediate Electrical Design EngineerLocation: ManchesterWorking Pattern: Full-time, office-basedIndustry: Water & WastewaterWere currently working with a leading engineering business operating across the UK water and wastewater sector, who are looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing design team.
This is a great opportunity for an electrical engineer with around 35 years design experience who is looking to develop their technical career while working on a range of water and wastewater projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, youll be responsible for producing high-quality electrical design deliverables and supporting projects from concept through to construction.
Your responsibilities will include
Producing electrical designs in line with safety, quality and client requirementsPreparing electrical calculations, drawings, reports and technical specificationsDeveloping LV electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment projectsWorking closely with CAD technicians to produce accurate and coordinated drawingsLiaising with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplinesEnsuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, legislation and client specificationsSupporting design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering activitiesManaging design changes throughout project deliveryAttending client, supplier and internal design meetingsContinuing to develop your technical knowledge through mentoring, CPD and professional developmentWere looking for someone with: A Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline35 years electrical design experience within the UK water industryExperience producing LV electrical designs for water or wastewater treatment projectsGood knowledge of relevant British Standards and water industry design practicesExperience with AutoCAD and Microsoft OfficeExperience working within a multidisciplinary design environmentA full UK driving licenceIt would also be beneficial if you have experience with: ICA, control systems or telemetryATEX design principlesAmtech, Trimble ProDesign or similar electrical design softwareBIM processes and Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction CloudWorking towards IEng or CEng statusThis is an excellent opportunity to join an established engineering team and work on a variety of projects within the UK water and wastewater sector, with plenty of scope for continued technical and professional development.
