Electrical Design Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Electrical Design Manager to lead their design division in East London. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical design projects, from conceptualization and planning to final execution and handover.

You will manage a team of electrical engineers and designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and compliant electrical solutions. This hybrid position combines on-site team leadership and client engagement with the flexibility of remote work for administrative and strategic planning tasks, fostering a dynamic and efficient design department.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of electrical design projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement design standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.
• Collaborate with clients, project stakeholders, and other disciplines to define project scope and requirements.
• Review and approve design documents, calculations, and specifications to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
• Manage resource allocation, workload distribution, and performance of the design team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical design, with at least 4 years in a management or lead role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex electrical design projects.
• Expertise in electrical system design, power distribution, and relevant industry codes and standards.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid environment, effectively managing teams and tasks both on-site and remotely.
