Electrical Engineer

Forget repetitive house-bashing or construction site jobs. As a Shift Electrical Engineer, you'll tackle varied maintenance tasks across a busy hospital, from wards and operating theatres to plant rooms. Put your electrical skills to work keeping a hospital running.

With a four-on, four-off shift pattern and annual leave included, you'll work around five months of the year , while enjoying the benefits of permanent NHS employment. Location: Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, CR7 7YE Salary: £33,262–£36,027 per annum (including Outer London HCAS), plus additional pay for night shifts and overtime.

Electrical fault-finding and responding to breakdowns. Maintaining lighting, power distribution and emergency lighting. Working on generators and battery backup systems. Planned maintenance, inspections and testing. Supporting wider building services, including ventilation, air conditioning and medical gases, within your competence.

Minor installations and repairs. A recognised electrical apprenticeship and relevant trade qualification. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification. Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience. Knowledge of electrical installations, building services and health and safety.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. No previous NHS experience needed. You'll gain experience with specialist hospital equipment while helping keep essential services running safely. Four on, four off: regular four-day breaks, with rotating day and night shifts.
