Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead electrical building services projects from concept to completion, shaping design solutions for a varied portfolio. You’ll work closely with clients, architects and design teams to influence the project from early stages through delivery. You’ll mentor junior engineers and ensure delivery on time, within budget and to high technical standards. This is a chance to shape Scotland’s building projects within a respected multidisciplinary consultancy and progress towards Chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Leading electrical building services projects from concept through to completion
• Developing electrical design strategies and detailed solutions
• Managing project delivery, programme and quality standards
• Coordinating and mentoring graduate, apprentice and assistant engineers
• Attending client and design team meetings as the electrical lead
• Producing calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation
• Support project cost planning and commercial delivery
• Undertaking site inspections, commissioning reviews and post-contract duties
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high technical standards

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Experience delivering electrical building services projects within a consultancy environment
• Strong understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
• Previous experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
• Client-facing experience with excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Revit, Amtech/Trimble, Dialux and AutoCAD
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
• Ideally working towards Chartered Engineer status or already chartered
