Job Description JobPurpose: ElectricalEngineerTheElectricalEngineerwillprovidetechnicalexpertise,design,maintenanceoversight,compliancesupportandoverseeelectricalworkstoelectricalsystemsacrosstheorganisation'spropertyportfolio.
Thepostholderwillleadandsupportthedevelopment,design,governanceanddeliveryofsafe,compliant,low-carbonandcost-effectiveM&EsolutionsacrosstheCouncil'smanagedestate,ensuringalignmentwiththeCouncil'sclimatecommitments,statutoryobligations,andbestpracticeengineeringstandards.
Therolewillcontributetowardsthecouncil'sambitionsforthedesignofelectricalsystemsthatarelowcarbon. ThepostholderwillbeinvolvedinmodernisingtheelectricalsystemstobeenvironmentallyfriendlyandalignedwiththeLondonBoroughofBarnetlowcarboninitiatives.
Therolewillalsohaveresponsibilityforexternalcontractorsandpartners.2.Keyaccountabilities: ElectricalEngineerToassist,advise,support,designandreviewelectricalengineeringsolutionsforthelocalauthority'smanagedestate. Wherethepostholderisappropriatelyqualifiedandexperienced,thismayincludeadvice,design,contractadministrationandsupportofmechanicalengineeringinadditiontoelectricalengineering.
SupportandadvisetheLocalAuthorityoncompliance,bestpracticeandstatutorycomplianceofelectricalcomponents. Toworkwithinamulti-disciplinarytechnicalteamastheelectricalengineersupportingtheteam,ensuringdeadlinesaremetinlinewithrealisticexpectationsindeliveringelectricaldesign,defectdiagnosisreports,fullspecificationofworks/scheduleofworks,feasibilitystudies,conditionsurveys,budgetcosts,ContractTocarryoutdesignworksandfeasibilityToproduce,manageanddesignofCADDrawingsfordesignToleadandactincapacityofcontractadministrator(whereappointed)undertakingregularsiteinspectionsandreports.
Todevelopandreviewdetailedreports,specificationsandToreviewandadviseontechnicalToliaisewiththeclientandotherteammemberstoensuredeliverablesaremetandvalueformoneyisprovided. ToreviewcontractualprogressinlinewithclientobjectivesandKPI's.AttendandbeavailabletobewithteammembersonTobuildandmanagepositiverelationshipswithallstakeholdersincludingelectedMembers,ThirdSectororganisations,publicsectorpartners,tenants,developers,otherlandownersandclientdepartments.
ToensurethatalldutiesandresponsibilitiesareperformedinaccordancewiththeCouncil'sPoliciesandProceduresincludingFinancialRegulations,StandingOrders,PersonnelPoliciesandProceduresetc. TokeepuptodateindevelopmentsandbestpracticeinElectricalEngineeringandconstruction,managementandleadershipandpublicsectorToundertakeanyothertasks,dutiesandresponsibilitiesasdirectedcommensuratewiththegradeandroleofthepost.
