Electrical Estimator

Overview

In this role you will prepare accurate electrical tenders for a specialist M&E contractor, working with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to win new work. You’ll translate drawings and specifications into detailed estimates, conduct cost take-offs, and assess quotations while highlighting risks and clarifications. You will contribute to tender submissions and support handovers to project delivery. This is a hands-on position with a clear impact on securing technically demanding projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates from drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Complete quantity take-offs and calculate labour, material and subcontractor costs
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Review tender requirements, identifying risks, exclusions and opportunities
• Prepare tender submissions, clearly outlining pricing assumptions and clarifications
• Attend tender review meetings and support handovers to project delivery teams

Key requirements

• Minimum 3 years Experience electrical estimating within M&E or electrical contracting
• Good understanding of electrical installations, drawings and specifications
• Ability to prepare accurate take-offs and competitive tender submissions
• Experience obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Strong numerical, communication and organisational skills
• Relevant electrical or building services qualification, or equivalent practical experience
