The postholder will carry out independent fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, control, and automation systems, responding to breakdowns, executing planned maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement of plant reliability.

The role operates under the site Electrical Safety Rules and Permit-to-Work system, with technical accountability escalating to the Site Electrical Engineer. Key ResponsibilitiesShift Electrical Maintenance & Fault ResponseAct as a primary electrical responder to plant breakdowns during shift.

Independently diagnose and rectify faults across:o Electrical distribution systems (LV)o Motors, drives, and motor control centreso Instrumentation and sensorso Machine safety circuitsRestore plant to service safely and efficiently following failures.

Carry out PLC interrogation and diagnostics to support fault finding and root cause identification. Work alongside Technical Support Engineers or the Site Electrical Engineer for complex or repeat control issues. Planned & Preventative MaintenanceIdentify deteriorating assets and escalate reliability risks.

Work strictly in accordance with electrical safety & compliance. Provide technical guidance to: electrical Craftspersons, Apprentices and junior staff. Support cross-discipline working with mechanical and production teams.

Contribute to shift handovers, breakdown reports, and defect escalation. Maintain discipline in documentation, tagging, and equipment labelling.
