We're looking for a driven and hands-on Electrical Site Engineer to join our growing Energy team within the Metlen Renewables in the United Kingdom. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy transition, delivering cutting-edge solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the UK.If you're passionate about renewable energy, thrive in fast-paced site environments, and want to make a tangible impact on sustainable infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
Your role will encompass: Oversee electrical subcontractors during the installation of LV/MV systems, including cabling, panels, switchgear, transformers and invertersEnsure installations meet design specifications, with a focus on cable routing, segregation, terminations, earthing and bondingInterpret and review electrical drawings, single line diagrams (SLDs), and cable schedulesSupport inspection, testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance and continuity testingCollaborate closely with civil and mechanical teams to ensure smooth and efficient project executionMonitor site progress, track subcontractor performance, and proactively address risks and delaysMaintain accurate quality and testing documentation, ensuring full traceabilitySupport pre-commissioning, energisation and final project handoverUphold the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance, ensuring safe systems of work are followed at all timesWhat you bring to
the role
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related fieldAt least 3 years' experience in electrical site engineering within construction or renewable energy projectsStrong experience supervising subcontractors and delivering electrical works on-siteSolid understanding of LV/MV systems, including grid connections, inverters and renewable infrastructureFamiliarity with testing, commissioning and QA/QC processesKnowledge of UK regulations, including IET Wiring Regulations and G99/G100 standardsAbility to confidently interpret technical drawings and documentationExperience working in multi-disciplinary site teams in fast-paced environmentsExcellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skillsA proactive mindset with a strong commitment to quality, safety and delivery excellenceYou share the Same Value Based Behaviours: People & Personal growth Results orientation & Safety excellence Collaboration & Trust Empathy & Effective communication Flexibility & AdaptabilityYour
