Job Description Electrical Maintenance Technician Location: West Lothian Salary: Competitive + Benefits Job Type: Permanent, Full Time The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a well-established manufacturing and engineering business based in Livingston.
Working as part of a highly skilled maintenance team, you will be responsible for preventative, planned and reactive maintenance activities across a complex industrial production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician with strong fault-finding skills and industrial maintenance experience to join a business that invests in continuous improvement, modern manufacturing practices and employee development.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a range of manufacturing equipment and plant assets. Diagnose and rectify electrical faults quickly and efficiently to minimise downtime.
Support the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, production equipment, furnaces, presses, machine tools and supporting infrastructure. Conduct electrical installations, testing and inspection activities. Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics and engineering drawings.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to improve equipment reliability and operational performance. Assist with the introduction of new equipment, tooling and modifications to existing plant. Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
Participate in risk assessments, safety inspections and safe systems of work processes. Support statutory inspection and maintenance programmes. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Time-served electrician qualification with City & Guilds, Modern Apprenticeship Level 3, HNC or equivalent.
Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Experience using electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools. Ability to interpret technical and schematic drawings.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance programmes and asset reliability techniques. Good computer literacy and record-keeping skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A flexible and proactive approach to work.
Ability to work at height and within confined or enclosed spaces when required. Desirable Experience Experience working with medium voltage distribution systems. Background in manufacturing, heavy engineering, metals, industrial processing or other industrial environments.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Asset Care or Continuous Improvement methodologies. Experience supporting statutory inspection and maintenance programmes. What's on Offer? Competitive salary and benefits package.
