Electronics Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will join a growing R&D team in Aberystwyth to design, test, and manufacture innovative electronic instruments. You will own the full development cycle from concept to production, including PCB layout, prototyping, and verification.

You will support design for manufacture and the transfer of products into production, ensuring quality and regulatory alignment. You will work with analog and digital electronics, and leverage embedded ARM-based systems to deliver robust hardware solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering role with meaningful impact on product readiness and industrial-scale manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design electronic schematics and PCB layouts, including circuit simulation and verification
• Build, test and debug prototype instruments with analogue and digital electronics
• Support new product introduction, design for manufacture and transfer of products into production
• Develop testing, calibration and manufacturing processes while ensuring quality and compliance

Key requirements

• Proven experience in electronics development, including PCB design and layout
• Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems, ARM-based microcontrollers and communication protocols
• Experience with electronic testing, prototype debugging and EMC compliance (Altium Designer and HDI PCB design desirable)
