Embedded Software Engineer - Southampton

Are you an experienced Embedded Software Engineer in Southampton with strong C++ skills looking to work on complex, technology-led products?

We’re working with an established engineering business developing sophisticated embedded systems and are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their team.

The Role - Embedded Software Engineer - Southampton

You’ll be responsible for the development, maintenance and enhancement of embedded software across a range of products, working closely with software, FPGA and SoC engineering teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and test C/C++ software
• Design and implement new embedded software applications and features
• Carry out unit and integration testing
• Develop software for system control and monitoring
• Integrate communication protocols including RS232/RS422, CAN, RTP, UDP and TCP/IP
• Develop GUI applications using commercial and open-source libraries

We’re looking for someone with:

• 3+ years’ experience in Embedded Software Development
• Strong C++ development experience
• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Experience with CI/CD
• Strong knowledge of SOLID principles, OOD and software design patterns
• Security clearance will be needed
