The department advises a broad range of employers across both public and private sectors and offers strong opportunities for progression within a supportive, collaborative environment. The RoleThe position is based in the Bristol office, working with senior lawyers across a varied client base.
The work includes a balanced mix of contentious and non contentious matters, such as:Managing your own caseload and supporting senior colleagues on more complex mattersAdvising on employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance and capability processesDrafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and proceduresAdvising on discrimination, equalities obligations and general HR queriesHandling Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings and witness statementsAdvising on TUPE, restructures, redundancy processes and settlement negotiationsProviding training to clients on employment law topicsSupporting business development and maintaining strong client relationshipsCandidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have:2-4 years PQE in employment lawExperience across both contentious and advisory workStrong drafting skills and attention to detailConfidence handling client matters independently where appropriateA collaborative approach and interest in developing client relationshipsExperience in any sector (public, private or third sector) is welcomeBenefitsThe firm offers:Hybrid working and flexible hoursCompetitive holiday allowance with the option to buy additional daysDiscretionary bonus schemePension and private medical coverLife assurance and wellbeing supportProfessional development opportunities and clear progression routesCulture & ValuesThe firm promotes a friendly, inclusive and supportive working environment, with a strong focus on professional development, wellbeing and collaborative working.
