Engineering Design Manager - Construction

In this role you guide design across multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, ensuring buildability, compliance and innovation. You’ll partner with clients and project teams to steer design from concept to delivery, balancing technical excellence with risk management. Responsibilities

• Manage contract with external design consultants alongside Project Manager
• Lead multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver solutions to required design levels
• Evaluate designs and propose improvements
• Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance and strategic stakeholders
• Liaise with Clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Contractors and Consultants on issues, scope changes and risks

Key requirements

• Minimum 5 years of design and management experience
• Experience across full project lifecycle and multiple sectors
• Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and consultant performance
• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments
• Degree/HNC in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• Excellent communication skills and client/staff liaison ability
• Self-driven and results-oriented with good time and people management
