Job Description MAINDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIESEnvironmentalHealthOfficerEfficientlyandproactivelymanageacaseloadofcomplexcases,thiswillincludeserviceofnoticesandrobustenforcementdecisions. AttendtribunalwhennoticesareappealedRespondtoservicerequestsconcerningenvironmentalhealthhousing,followingservicepolicyandprocedurestoachieveanappropriateoutcome.
Investigationofservicerequestsanduseofappropriateenforcementactioninlinewiththedepartmentalenforcementpolicyandotherrelevantguidance. Prepareappropriatespecifications,reports,notices,schedulesandotherrelateddocumentationandserveCPN'sforfailuretocomplywithnoticeswhereappropriate.
Ensureappropriateandtimelyresponsestoallcorrespondence,complaintsandenquiriesfromtheserviceusers,stakeholders,seniorofficerswithinagreedtimescalesandinlinewithCamden'sCustomerCareStandards. KnowledgeofFlare/CivicaappisanadvantageWORKEnvironmentalHealthOfficerAlthoughoffice-based,therolewillinvolveloneworkinginadiverserangeofenvironments,whichcanbepotentiallyhazardousorsensitiveinnature.
Athoroughunderstanding&adherenceoftheCouncil'sHealth&SafetyPolicy&guidanceisimperative. Youwillknowhowtohandleawiderangeofsituationsandbepreparedtoreceiveadviceandtrainingtoenhanceyourskills. ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSEnvironmentalHealthOfficerBScorDiplomainEnvironmentalHealthandbeeligibleforEHORBregistrationasanEHO.Atleast2yearsofexperienceworkingwithinEnvironmentalHealthHousingHaveadetailedknowledge/understandingofthelegislativeframeworkrelevanttotheteamanditsapplicationtocasework.
Musthaveextensiveexperienceinmakingrobustenforcementdecisionsandtakingenforcementactionunderpart1oftheHousingAct2004Musthaveexperienceandconfidencetodealwithchallenginglandlordsandtenants.
