Estimator

Overview

In this permanent Estimator role, you will support a Tier 1 main contractor’s pre-construction effort from Leeds, delivering robust tender submissions. You will work closely with the pre-construction team and supply chain to price major projects accurately. The role includes reviewing drawings/specs, sourcing subcontractor quotes, and driving competitive bids with a clear handover to delivery. This is a hands-on position that shapes winning proposals and project start-up through disciplined estimation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Produce accurate pricing and cost information
• Liaise with the supply chain throughout the tender process
• Support the preparation of competitive bids
• Assist with the successful handover of projects into delivery

Key requirements

• Previous estimating experience within a main contractor environment
• Strong understanding of building construction and the tender process
• Experience preparing tenders for construction projects
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to analyse drawings, specifications and supply-chain returns
