Family Support Assistant Employer: Quantum Scholars Location: Wokingham Working arrangement: In-person, home and community-based support - this is not an online role Hours: 2.5 hours per morning, 4 mornings per week Focus: Supporting a family and a highly anxious young person who is educated other than at school (EOTAS) Quantum Scholars is looking for a calm, compassionate and reliable Family Support Assistant to work with a family in Wokingham.
The role will involve providing practical and emotional support to the family of a highly anxious young person who is currently receiving their education through an EOTAS arrangement. This is a relationship-based role where consistency, patience and sensitivity are extremely important.
You will help create a supportive environment around the young person while also assisting their family with some of the practical day-to-day demands of home life (i.e. tidying) and education outside of a traditional school setting.
The role may involve Building a positive, trusting relationship with the young person and their family. Providing practical support to help the family manage day-to-day routines and education-related activities. Supporting the family with general household tasks where needed, such as tidying, organising shared spaces and other light practical duties.
Being willing to take a flexible and hands-on approach to supporting the family with everyday tasks that help create a calm and organised home environment. Supporting the young person to engage with learning, activities and their wider EOTAS provision where appropriate.
Helping to reduce barriers to engagement by providing calm, consistent and reassuring support. Accompanying or supporting the young person with activities in the home or community where required. Working closely with parents or carers and other professionals involved in the young person's education and wellbeing.
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive routines at an appropriate pace. Observing and communicating any changes, concerns or progress to the relevant professionals. ...
