Final Inspection Lead

Overview

Lead final inspection for complete pump packages and rotating equipment at Sulzers Leeds flagship facility. You coordinate the final assembly verification, approve manufacturing records, and ensure ISO 9001 compliance and customer requirements are met. You work cross-functionally to resolve issues, drive on-time delivery, and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement. This role offers hands-on exposure to large, technically advanced pumps and a chance to influence product quality from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead final inspection activities for complete pump packages and rotating equipment
• Coordinate final assembly verification before dispatch
• Review and approve final manufacturing records and quality documentation
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality requirements
• Verify customer specifications and contractual obligations are fulfilled
• Oversee sign-off of complete pump packages and bareshaft assemblies
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management and Quality teams to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery
• Support customer inspections and witness activities as needed
• Promote quality, accountability and continuous improvement across the operation

Key requirements

• Experience in heavy engineering, rotating equipment, pumps, turbines, motors or similar manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of final inspection, QA and documentation control processes
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
• Experience coordinating inspections for large, complex engineered products
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
