Finance Business Partner

Your new company Hays Senior Finance is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established and highly successful manufacturing organisation in the Co. Armagh area to recruit a Finance Business Partner. This is a key appointment within the Northern Ireland operation and represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant to join the senior management team, working closely with operational leaders and the Chief Executive to influence performance and strategic decision-making.

Your new role As Finance Business Partner, you will take responsibility for the financial performance of the Northern Ireland operation, combining strong financial control with commercial business partnering and operational analysis.

This is not simply a reporting position. You will work closely with senior management to understand what is driving performance, challenge the business and provide the financial insight required to support key decisions.

Key responsibilities will include

Ownership of monthly management and corporate reporting Management of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls Leading the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes Analysis of manufacturing performance, including standard costs, absorption, variances, fixed and variable costs Providing insight into productivity, profitability and operational performance Supporting financial analysis around new products and capital investment Preparing meaningful management information with recommendations for senior stakeholders Partnering operational teams to challenge performance and support business objectives Maintaining and improving the site's standard costing and BOM processes Supporting ERP and GL integration requirements Driving continuous improvement across systems, controls, reporting and financial processes What you'll need to succeed You will be a qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with strong experience gained within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Of particular importance will be: Strong management accounting experience within manufacturing In-depth standard and absorption costing knowledge Strong understanding of manufacturing variances, BOMs and operational cost drivers Budgeting and forecasting experience Excellent commercial and financial analysis skills Proven ability to business partner and influence senior stakeholders Confidence constructively challenging operational decision-making Advanced Excel skills Strong ERP/systems knowledge A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to simplify and improve existing processes You'll be someone who can get behind the numbers, understand what is driving performance and translate financial information into commercial action.
