Finance Manager

Job Description Finance ManagerMerseyside - Office-basedUp to £60,000An established construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of its finance function. Working closely with the Managing Director, you will provide financial oversight across the business, ensuring strong cash management, accurate reporting and effective financial controls.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is commercially minded and comfortable working independently. Key DutiesLead and manage the overall finance functionPrepare and monitor cash-flow forecasts, including short- and medium-term projectionsManage banking relationships, funding arrangements and finance facilitiesProduce monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial analysisProvide senior management with clear financial and commercial insightMonitor project performance, margins, profitability and overheadsOversee debtor and creditor management, supplier payments and customer collectionsEnsure bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts are regularly reconciledOversee payroll and ensure accurate, timely processingManage VAT, CIS, PAYE and other financial compliance requirementsReview applications for payment, certificates, retentions and outstanding customer balancesMaintain accurate accounting records and ensure the integrity of information held in XeroIdentify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems and controlsLiaise with accountants, auditors, banks, funders and other professional advisersSupport the Managing Director and senior team with financial and commercial decisionsAbout YouPrevious experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance roleStrong management accounting, forecasting and cash-flow experienceConfident using Xero and ExcelExperience overseeing payroll and transactional financeCommercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsComfortable working independently and taking full ownershipPackageUp to £60,000 depending on experienceDirect involvement with senior management and commercial decisionsOpportunity to develop the finance functionOffice-basedIf you would like to discuss further please contact
