Financial Controller

Overview

In this role, you will oversee all financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, and internal controls. You will drive the month-end close, ensure accurate financial information, and manage external audits across the business.

You will optimise Netsuite and related tools to strengthen processes and control environments. You will partner with Group Finance and lead the Assistant Controller to grow their capabilities. This is a European-focused role within a software supplier backed by a large North American parent, offering an opportunity to shape financial governance at scale.

Responsibilities

• Supervise accounting operations to ensure a smooth month-end close (Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Revenue Recognition)
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and timely balance sheet reconciliations (Blackline)
• Prepare and publish monthly financial reporting to Group Finance
• Lead the audit process as primary contact for auditors at consolidated and group level
• Manage local regulatory reporting and tax submissions for accuracy and timeliness
• Optimise NetSuite and Microsoft tools to improve efficiencies and strengthen internal controls
• Coach and develop the Assistant Controller and provide training as needed

Key requirements

• Accounting Qualification (CPA)
• Strong IFRS knowledge, especially IFRS 15
• Experience with NetSuite/GP/BPC accounting systems
• Proven track record of improving financial processes and internal controls
• Excellent written and verbal English communication
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Proactive issue identification and resolution
• 5+ years in an accounting and financial controller role
