Financial ControllerOur client is a well-established, privately owned manufacturing and engineering business based in Nottinghamshire, with a strong market presence and an established customer base. The business continues to perform well, with a strong plans for further growth.

They are looking to appoint a qualified Financial Controller to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, working closely with the leadership team to drive financial performance, improve reporting and support commercial decision-making.

The roleReporting to the Finance Director, you will run the month-end process, lead a small finance team and make sure the business has accurate, timely information on profitability, stock and cash. There is a genuine opportunity to tighten processes and improve the quality of reporting rather than simply maintaining what is already there.

Key responsibilitiesDeliver the monthly management accounts and board reporting, with clear commentary on performance and marginsOversee costing, WIP and stock valuation, working closely with operations to resolve variancesManage cash flow forecasting, working capital and the annual budget and reforecast processPrepare year-end statutory accounts under FRS 102 and lead the external auditStrengthen financial controls and processes while managing and developing the finance teamAbout youACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with at least two years' post-qualification experienceA background in manufacturing, engineering or a similar operational environment where stock and costing are significantHands-on experience of month-end close, statutory accounts and audit, along with previous line managementPractical and commercially minded, able to explain the numbers clearly to non-finance managers and comfortable challenging when something does not look rightInterested?
