Fire Engineer

Overview

In this Fire Engineer role at AECOM, you will lead fire engineering work across sectors, guiding a local team with mentorship from senior staff. You will handle projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight, applying CFD and evacuation modelling and other analytical methods. You’ll focus on UK regulations and markets, solving new problems with adapted methods. You’ll contribute to interdisciplinary project reviews and help shape accurate cost estimates. Responsibilities

• Deliver projects from inception to completion with limited senior oversight, including CFD and evacuation modelling
• Manage design projects and review colleagues work
• Apply fire engineering across sectors with emphasis on UK regulations
• Develop novel approaches to solve new problems using refined procedures
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of deliverables
• Contribute to cost estimation for technical efforts

Key requirements

• Degree or professional qualification
• Experience in a similar consultancy or relevant business
• Experience in fire engineering across sectors with a focus on UK regulations
• Experience managing fire engineering aspects of small to medium design projects within time and budget constraints
