Responsibilities
Lead manage motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team including Principal Enforcement Officers Enforcement Officers Assistant Enforcement Officers and support staff. Provide professional supervision guidance coaching and support to team members.
Allocate workloads and monitor service delivery to ensure statutory obligations and performance targets are achieved. Conduct staff performance management appraisals objective setting and development reviews. Promote a culture of continuous improvement learning and high professional standards.
Requirements
Essential Experience Required: Extensive and current experience regulating food safety within a local authority environment. Significant experience undertaking food hygiene and food standards inspections and enforcement activities.
Experience managing complex food safety investigations and enforcement cases. Experience leading supervising or managing regulatory services staff. Essential Qualifications Required: Degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health or a related discipline.
Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) Certificate or equivalent qualification required to practice as an Environmental Health Officer. Registration with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) or equivalent professional body.
Qualification meeting the Food Law Code of Practice competency requirements. Additional information to note: Working hours: 36 hours per week DBS required. 160 Tooley Street London SE1 2QH United Kingdom We work on bi weekly payment schedule. The role closes on 5th August 2026 apply ASAP. Required
