Position: Food Technology Teacher Location: Manchester Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: Immediate Start Available Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Food Technology Teacher - Good Secondary School in Manchester A Good Secondary School in Manchester is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and practical Food Technology Teacher to join its established Design & Technology department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative educator to inspire students through practical learning while developing their understanding of nutrition, food science, preparation, and healthy living. Staff benefit from supportive leadership, collaborative colleagues, and opportunities to develop professionally. The Opportunity The successful candidate will deliver Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to contribute to KS5 provision where appropriate.
You will plan engaging lessons that combine theoretical understanding with practical application, helping students develop confidence in food preparation and an appreciation of nutrition and healthy lifestyles. You will be expected to maintain high standards of behaviour and safety while creating lessons that allow students to experiment, evaluate, and develop their own ideas.
Working alongside colleagues within Design & Technology, you will contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment opportunities, helping to raise the profile of practical subjects across the school. Key Responsibilities Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 where appropriate Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons Develop students' knowledge of nutrition, food science, and preparation Prepare students for relevant GCSE examinations Assess student work and monitor progress effectively Maintain excellent health and safety standards in specialist classrooms Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development Support extracurricular activities and practical enrichment Encourage creativity, independence, and critical evaluation What the School Offers This Good Secondary School in Manchester provides a welcoming and ambitious environment where students are encouraged to achieve their potential.
