Job Description Forklift Engineer Full Time | PermanentMonday to Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Forklift Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering business.
This role will involve carrying out the service, maintenance, repair and fault-finding of forklifts and material handling equipment, ensuring machinery is operating safely and efficiently. This position would suit an engineer with strong electrical fault-finding abilities, combined with solid mechanical knowledge, who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities Perform planned maintenance, servicing and repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment. Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults efficiently. Conduct inspections and ensure equipment is compliant with safety standards.
Complete all work to a high standard whilst adhering to health and safety procedures. Assist with the day-to-day running of the workshop and support colleagues where required. Provide technical support and guidance to junior or less experienced engineers.
Attend customer sites on occasion to carry out servicing, repairs and breakdown support. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Skills & Experience Required Previous experience servicing and repairing forklifts, material handling equipment, plant machinery, access equipment or similar mobile machinery.
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Good mechanical engineering knowledge and practical repair experience. Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. Proactive approach to problem-solving with excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills. Willingness to mentor and support other engineers. Full UK driving licence. Own transport required due to the rural location. Good level of English communication skills (minimum B1 level preferred).
