Role: Teacher of French (KS3–KS5) Location: Diss, Norfolk Contract: Maternity Cover, Full-Time Start Date: November 2026 School Type: Independent co-educational school Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience An independent co-educational school near Diss is seeking a French Teacher to provide maternity cover across the senior school.
The role offers scope to teach lively lessons from KS3 through to sixth form, with particular emphasis on communication, cultural understanding and academic progress. You will be expected to maintain continuity for existing classes while bringing fresh ideas to lessons through literature, cinema, conversation and current affairs.
The ideal candidate will be a fluent and confident French speaker who can teach examination classes effectively and establish positive relationships quickly. Experience in an independent-school setting is welcome but is not essential.
The school has small teaching groups, strong pastoral support and a broad extracurricular programme. The successful applicant may become involved in trips, clubs or language events during the placement.
