General Manager - Mechanical Engineering South Yorkshire £30-40k Our client, a national engineering organisation based near Rotherham, is now looking to recruit an ambitious and people focussed General Manager to join their growing team!

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager to lead our engineering operations with passion and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, development, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and industry standards.

Duties Lead and manage multiple engineering departments, setting clear objectives and performance standards to ensure project success. Develop strategic plans for engineering operations, including resource allocation, project timelines, and budget management.

Supervise engineering managers and technical teams, providing mentorship and fostering leadership development. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of engineering systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product or service quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product development, manufacturing, and supply chain to align engineering efforts with organizational priorities.

Ensure all engineering activities adhere to legal regulations, industry best practices, and organizational policies. Qualifications Proven supervising experience in an engineering leadership role with a track record of managing diverse teams effectively.

Strong management skills with the ability to develop strategies, set priorities, and execute plans efficiently. Demonstrated leadership qualities that inspire innovation, accountability, and team cohesion. Bachelor's degree or Higher Education qualification in Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels and presenting complex technical information clearly. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
