Role Description We are looking for an SC -cleared GitHub Administrator with Automationexperienceto provide initial administrative support and help improve the scalability of the GitHub operating model. The role will focus on supporting GitHub administration across multiple organisations, addressing the existing administration and onboarding backlog and identifying opportunities to automate manual processes.
The successful candidate should have practical experience of GitHub Enterprise administration, access management, user onboarding, workflow automation and governance. The initial engagement involves clearing the existing backlog, with a focus on stabilising the current administration process and recommending sustainable improvements.
Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day GitHub administration support across multiple GitHub organisations. Support the processing of user access, onboarding, invitations and administrative requests. Help clear the existing GitHub administration and onboarding backlog.
Review current manual and email-driven administrative processes and identify opportunities for automation and self-service. Configure and maintain appropriate GitHub organisation and enterprise-level settings, policies and permissions.
Support role-based access and team management using GitHub teams, repositories and organisation permissions. Review notifications and administrative workflows and help streamline request handling. Support integration with enterprise identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID/SSO, where applicable.
Ensure GitHub administration activities align with agreed security, governance and Technology Radar standards. Document existing and revised administration processes, operating procedures and automation. Provide knowledge transfer to the ongoing administration/support team.
Essential Skills Strong hands-on experience administering GitHub Enterprise/GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
