Build a career in commercial property. Develop your expertise. Make a difference. What makes a building work well? How do you balance the needs of occupiers, clients and investors? And what goes into managing a property successfully?

If you've ever been curious about the property industry and want to turn that interest into a career, our Graduate Surveyor Programme could be the opportunity for you. MAPP is looking for a graduate who is genuinely interested in commercial property surveying, enjoys working with people and wants to build a long-term career in the sector.

We're interested in more than your degree title or previous work experience. We want to understand what has drawn you to surveying, what you've done to explore the industry and why this is a career you genuinely want to pursue.

A related degree is preferred, but it doesn't have to be RICS-accredited. Your interest might have developed through university, online learning, volunteering, industry events or independent research. About the role As a Graduate Surveyor, you'll work alongside experienced Surveyors and colleagues across Property and Facilities Management, developing your understanding of how commercial properties are managed and maintained.

You'll gain practical experience, build your commercial awareness and gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow. Your work could involve: Property management: Learning how commercial properties operate and how issues are resolved to meet the needs of occupiers.

Client relationships: Working with clients, occupiers, colleagues and contractors, developing your communication skills and understanding different perspectives. Commercial awareness: Gaining exposure to property budgets, service charges, lease arrangements, payments and client reporting.

Maintenance and improvements: Supporting maintenance activities, planned works and property improvement projects. Problem-solving: Investigating challenges, assessing information and working with others to find practical solutions.

Sustainability and compliance: Developing your understanding of energy efficiency, building compliance and occupier experience. Professional development: Building your confidence, taking ownership of tasks and learning from experienced colleagues.

As your experience grows, you'll have the opportunity to develop your own small portfolio of properties, putting your learning into practice and building a strong foundation for your surveying career. Learning and professional development You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience and develop your understanding of commercial property through practical work.

The programme offers a pathway towards RICS qualification, supporting your development towards becoming a qualified professional, subject to the applicable qualification and experience requirements. You'll be encouraged to ask questions, learn from experience and gradually take on more responsibility as you build your confidence.

What's included? Starting salary of £30,000–£33,000, depending on experience. Structured Graduate Programme. A pathway towards RICS qualification. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Personal development planning, ongoing learning and support.

Study leave, subject to programme arrangements. Two paid volunteering days per year. Team socials and charitable initiatives. The opportunity to work within an employee-owned business. Long-term career development within a growing commercial property business.
