Group Financial Controller

FT Recruitment has been asked to exclusively partner with a growing, internationally focused business, managing their recruitment process for a Group Financial Controller to join their team in Elgin. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to work closely with the business owner and General Manager, bringing financial capability in-house and helping shape the next stage of the company’s growth.

Our client is offering this role on a hybrid working arrangment, ideally 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely. With a turnover of approximately £7m and customers across four international regions, the business is experiencing particularly strong growth in the Middle East and Far East.

Duties

Take ownership of day-to-day financial management and strengthen in-house finance processes. Develop and introduce a structured management reporting and financial information package. Provide clear financial insight to support business planning and commercial decision-making.

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial performance reporting. Work closely with external accountants and international tax advisers on statutory and compliance requirements. Review existing systems and controls, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and visibility.

Partner with the General Manager and business owner to support strategic decisions and continued international expansion. Provide hands-on support with transactional finance activities when required. We’re looking for an organised, commercially minded fully qualified finance professional with previous in-house experience and a proactive, hands-on approach.

You’ll be confident improving financial processes, developing meaningful management information and communicating financial performance to non-finance stakeholders. The ability to work independently, build strong relationships and adapt within a growing business will be key.

Experience in an international or expanding SME environment would be advantageous. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape our clients finance function with direct access to the business owner and General Manager. The successful candidate will improve financial reporting and influence business growth within this forward thinking, ambitious, internationally growing company.
