Head of Solutioning

Overview

This role leads the Central Solution Team to standardize and govern client solutions across UK&I, ensuring commercial viability, regulatory alignment, and seamless handover to delivery. You will shape a strategic solutioning roadmap, mentor a multi-disciplinary team, and partner with CTO, Enterprise Architecture, and pre-sales to reduce cost and risk while boosting win rates.

You’ll drive reuse, adherence to frameworks, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver predictable, compliant solutions. The opportunity centers on impactful governance and delivery excellence in a complex, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the centrally governed solutioning function across UK&I
• Define strategic roadmap for solution standardization, governance, and integration
• Build, lead, and mentor industry-aligned solution leads and architects
• Resource management for pre-sales and bid activity
• Forecast capacity and growth to optimize team size
• Collaborate with CTO and Enterprise Architecture to align with guiderails
• Collaborate with pre-sales to assess opportunities and support bid responses
• Oversee end-to-end solution design lifecycle (qualification, shaping, risk assessment, approval, handover)
• Ensure solutions meet UK regulatory, contractual, and commercial standards
• Drive consistency and reuse with defined solution frameworks and service catalogs
• Lead the Solution Design Authority for architecture quality and delivery alignment
• Provide oversight on deal economics, margin protection, pricing validation, and risk mitigation
• Triage bids to reduce cost, cycle time, and commercial exposure
• Integrate industry knowledge into solution offerings and promote reuse
• Collaborate with Sales, Bid Management, Delivery, Legal, Risk for cohesive solutioning
• Ensure smooth handover to delivery with risk logs and transition artefacts
• Capture lessons learned to feed solution frameworks and drive continuous improvement
• Monitor KPIs including win rate, margin variance, bid cost, and governance adherence
