Job Description HGV Class 1 Driver – BirminghamPeople Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham .This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work with no dropped shifts , a genuine temporary to permanent opportunity, and the chance to join a reputable logistics operation with long-term career prospects.
This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, CE Driver, C+E Driver, HGV Driver, Trunk Driver, RDC Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver. Shift PatternDays Monday to Friday Start times between 03:00 – 06:00Rates of PayDays £16.98 per hour (basic rate) £22.57 per hour after 48 hours workedBenefitsAs an HGV Class 1 Driver , you will receive: Excellent hourly rates Weekly pay Ongoing work Genuine temporary to permanent opportunity No dropped shifts On-site canteen facilities Free on-site parking Immediate starts available Industry-related training and ongoing supportDay-to-Day DutiesAs an HGV Class 1 Driver , your duties will include (but are not limited to): Completing depot-to-depot trunking routes and trailer swaps Operating Category CE (HGV Class 1) vehicles safely and efficiently Carrying out pre-use and post-use vehicle safety inspections Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly before departure Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation Maintaining accurate transport paperwork and delivery documentation Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or operational issues Delivering a professional and reliable service at all timesEssential SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will need: A valid UK Category CE (HGV Class 1) Driving Licence A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card A valid Digital Tachograph Card A minimum of two years' Category CE driving experience No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes) Good knowledge of Driver Hours, Tachograph, and Working Time Regulations Good spoken and written English A reliable, professional, and safety-conscious approach to workDesirable Experience Previous experience completing Class 1 trunking, RDC deliveries, trailer swaps, or general haulage work would be advantageousTraining Provided Driver assessment required prior to starting Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignmentApply: If you are an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for a stable role with excellent rates of pay and genuine long-term opportunities, please apply today and a member of our team will be in touch.
