HGV Technician

HGV Technician Location: Coventry Hours: 06:00 – 16:00, Monday – Friday Pay: Up to £21.70 per hour + Overtime at time 1/2 We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established and supportive workshop team based in Coventry.

• Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 16:00 The Role As an HGV Technician, you will play a key role in keeping a busy commercial vehicle fleet safe, reliable and roadworthy.

Your responsibilities will include

* Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and inspections on HGVs * Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults * Working on engines, gearboxes and other complex vehicle systems * Carrying out preventative maintenance and repairs * Completing accurate maintenance records and documentation * Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements * Working closely with the wider workshop team to maintain fleet efficiency * Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior technicians where required About You We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician with a strong technical background and a genuine interest in vehicle maintenance.

You will ideally have: * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance * Previous experience working as an HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic * Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical, electrical and diagnostic systems * Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills * A high level of attention to detail * The ability to work independently and as part of a team * A full driving licence – HGV licence preferred but not essential * Your own tools IRTEC qualification is highly desirable, although training and support towards achieving IRTEC will be available for the right candidate.
