Highly experienced Python Engineer – Tech Driven Fund

Overview

In this role you will join a London-based, performance-driven hedge fund to extend and optimize trading infrastructure for systematic strategies in rates and FX. You’ll work closely with research teams to design and implement automated trading algorithms and expand the firm’s research platform for new exchanges and products. Responsibilities

• Extend existing trading infrastructure to support new systematic strategies
• Collaborate with research teams to architect, implement and analyze automated trading algorithms
• Build and engineer the firm’s software infrastructure for current and new lines of business
• Expand the proprietary research platform to support new exchanges, products and functionality

Key requirements

• Expert in production-level Python with numpy, pandas, scipy, statsmodels
• Ability to translate high-level requirements into engineering concepts
• Experience with databases (SQLAlchemy) and SQL; proficient with Redis and Docker
• Knowledge of fixed income terminology and construction
• Experience handling time series data with varying frequencies and time zones
• Version control with git and deployment via GitLab
• Experience with FIX would be useful
• Collaborative teamwork with research and trading teams
• Pragmatic, balanced approach to using existing libraries vs building from scratch
• Strong problem-solving and communication of complex ideas
