History ECT required January 2026 Good mixed school based in Stevenage History ECT to join a dynamic and reflective Humanities department Our Client is seeking a History ECT to teach across KS3 and KS4 in a well-regarded school located in southern Stevenage.

The successful candidate will benefit from additional non-contact time, structured feedback, and ongoing pedagogical training. School Information This 11–18 school serves around 1,300 students and continues to perform above national averages in core subjects.

The Humanities department is known for fostering curiosity, analytical writing, historical debate, and independent research skills. Resources include access to digital archives, historical documentaries, subject-specific reading collections, and strong ICT support for blended learning.

Staff describe the school culture as respectful, well-led, and supportive of early-career teachers. There is a strong commitment to CPD, including trust-wide training events, behaviour support workshops, and dedicated planning time for ECTs.
