Role Health & Safety Advisor Location Cumbria, Sellafield Salary55,000 per annum Benefits The Health & Safety Advisor will support the safe delivery of nuclear separation and decommissioning activities by ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

The role involves providing competent advice, monitoring site activities, and promoting a strong safety culture across a highly regulated nuclear project. Key Responsibilities Provide expert health and safety advice to project teams involved in nuclear separation and decommissioning activities Ensure compliance with UK legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, and nuclear-specific regulatory requirements Support the development, implementation, and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to site safety standards and permit-to-work systems Assist in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and reporting, ensuring lessons learned are communicated effectively Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, coaching, and behavioural safety initiatives Liaise with regulatory bodies, including the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), as required Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation Qualifications NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable)Membership of IOSH (e.G., Tech IOSH / Grad IOSH / CMIOSH preferred)Relevant nuclear site training/clearance (e.G., SC/DV clearance may be required)About NRLThe NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
