Our client is seeking a skilled HV Cable Designer to support the delivery of renewable energy infrastructure projects. This permanent role will involve the design and development of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage cable systems, ensuring technically robust, compliant and practical solutions from feasibility through to installation. Key Responsibilities:Undertaking HV and EHV cable design activities in line with TP141 requirements and applicable industry standardsCarrying out cable sizing, thermal rating and ampacity calculationsCompleting bonding, earthing and induced voltage studiesAssessing cable route feasibility, trench designs and installation methodsUsing specialist cable design software, including CYMCAP and ELEKPreparing detailed technical reports, design documentation and engineering deliverablesProducing accurate cable design drawings using AutoCADCollaborating with engineering and project teams to support the successful delivery of renewable energy projectsJob Requirements:Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualificationExperience in HV and EHV cable design within the energy, power or renewables sectorStrong technical capability in cable sizing, thermal rating and ampacity calculationsKnowledge of bonding, earthing and induced voltage studiesUnderstanding of cable routing, trench design and installation methodologiesProficiency with CYMCAP, ELEK or comparable specialist cable design softwareExperience producing high-quality technical reports and design deliverables to relevant specifications and standardsProficiency in AutoCAD and strong attention to detailBenefits:Permanent opportunity within the renewables sectorInvolvement in technically challenging HV and EHV cable design projectsOpportunities to contribute to the development of renewable energy infrastructureProfessional development within a specialist engineering environmentThis is an excellent opportunity for an HV Cable Designer with strong TP141 knowledge and expertise in cable design, technical reporting and AutoCAD to contribute to the future of renewable energy.
