ICT Security Specialist

Overview

In this role, you will contribute to HDRs Building Engineering Services by designing and coordinating ICT/security systems that support digital infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate client needs into construction-ready documentation and reliable designs. You will tackle technical challenges in cabling, security, and system integration while staying current with industry technologies. This is a chance to influence how buildings power progress and enable safe, connected environments.

Responsibilities

• Design cabling pathways and bonding systems for telecom or security networks
• Convene with clients to capture objectives and verify alignment with project design
• Prepare complete construction documents (SD, DD, CD) and support CA activities
• Coordinate with integrated project teams to define functional requirements and system designs
• Edit and tailor telecom/security specifications to project specifics
• Maintain knowledge of current products and emerging technologies
• Assist in troubleshooting and field support when needed
• Perform other duties as required

Key requirements

• Associate or technical school degree, or equivalent education/experience
• 2-10 years of related work experience
• Active participant in employee-owned culture
• Proficiency with BIM tools (Revit) and standard software (PDF, Microsoft, Google)
• Ability to work across building ICT/security domains
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Problem-solving mindset
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Telecom cabling design (Horizontal/Backbone) or electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion)
• Design of conduits and cable tray systems
• Construction documentation (SD, DD, CD)
