In house Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel (16577) Newcastle upon Tyne, England

Responsibilities

Advising on a broad range of commercial, regulatory and corporate legal issues. Identifying, monitoring and escalating legal risks, including in relation to new regulatory developments. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting the organisation’s commercial position.

Supporting corporate and governance matters alongside the Company Secretariat team. Assisting with compliance Supporting the management of contractual disputes. Working with external counsel on key projects. Skills and Expeirence: Good understanding of general commercial legal principles and commercial contracts.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently, with support of senior lawyers in the team (depending on experience). Strong communication skills and stakeholder management. Beneficial Experience of financial services sector or another regulated industry.

Experience in corporate law or litigation. Private practice experience at a large commercial law firm.
