A leading consumer brands business is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its UK Legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract commencing in September. This is a broad, business-facing role offering exposure to commercial contracts, marketing, advertising, consumer law, intellectual property, data protection and strategic business projects. - Provide pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of commercial matters.
- Partner directly with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Support business growth, strategic projects, compliance initiatives and legal training.
- Work in a collaborative and supportive legal team environment with high-profile stakeholder exposure. Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including technology, procurement, marketing and supply chain contracts.
- Provide legal support on advertising, marketing and promotional campaigns.
- Advise on intellectual property, brand protection and general commercial matters.
- Support the business on data protection and privacy issues.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
- Assist with legal training, compliance initiatives and business projects. Candidate profile
- Qualified solicitor with approximately 5+ years’ PQE.
- Strong commercial contracts experience gained in private practice and/or in-house.
- Commercially focused, solutions-driven and confident advising senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, business-facing environment.
Previous experience in retail, FMCG, consumer products, technology or procurement-related matters would be advantageous. What’s on offer? 12-month fixed-term contract with an immediate September start. Hybrid working arrangement – 3 days per week in the office.
