Internal expression of interest Temporary until 26 February 2027 Based in Tamworth hybrid working supported Salary relative to experience and ranges from $115817 to $130667 super This role is responsible for delivering endtoend compliance and investigation activities to support environmental and heritage regulation within the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
The Investigator conducts riskbased regulatory work including investigations into potential breaches of environmental legislation while also supporting audits education programs and stakeholder engagement to improve overall compliance outcomes.
Key aspects of the role include: Leading complex investigations and gathering analysing and documenting evidence to inform decisions and enforcement actions Preparing highquality reports briefs and submissions including advice on sensitive or highprofile matters Contributing to regulatory policy procedures and continuous improvement initiatives Working collaboratively with internal teams coregulators and external stakeholders to deliver effective regulatory outcomes Providing guidance and building capability within the team The role requires strong skills in investigation stakeholder engagement problem solving and written communication along with the ability to manage complex sensitive matters in a dynamic regulatory environment.
About You We are seeking a motivated and capable professional who brings strong investigative analytical and stakeholder engagement skills to support the delivery of complex compliance and regulatory outcomes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Proven experience conducting investigations and managing compliance activities including gathering and analysing evidence to inform decisions Strong ability to prepare clear accurate and timely reports briefs and advice particularly on complex or sensitive issues A collaborative approach with the ability to build effective relationships across teams stakeholders and partner agencies Sound judgement and integrity with a commitment to upholding legislation policies and regulatory standards The ability to manage competing priorities work autonomously and deliver highquality outcomes within tight timeframes Welldeveloped communication skills with confidence in engaging influencing and educating stakeholders A proactive mindset contributing to continuous improvement policy development and capability building We are particularly interested in candidates who thrive in a dynamic regulatory environment can navigate complexity and ambiguity and are committed to delivering positive environmental and compliance outcomes.
