Overview

Join RWEST in Swindon for a year-long Industrial Placement as an Application Developer in Embedded IT. You’ll design, code, test, and implement changes for mission-critical trading desk applications, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams. Gain in-depth exposure to IT development in a DevOps-friendly environment and learn how technology enables quick, informed trading decisions. This placement offers hands-on learning, mentorship, and opportunities to progress into graduate programmes.

Responsibilities

• design, code, test and implement application changes
• work in an agile DevOps environment
• collaborate with embedded IT team and trading business users
• support and develop bespoke applications for short-term trading desks
• learn and apply modern IT languages and tools to enhance decision-making

Key requirements

• penultimate year of IT degree or similar numerate subject (e.g., Mathematics, Engineering, Economics)
• excellent communication with fluent English
• ability to use AI-enabled productivity tools
