Junior Cloud Support Engineer

Junior Cloud Security Engineer: Wallingford - Oxfordshire Overview: Are you currently working in IT Support, Infrastructure, Service Desk, or a SOC environment and looking to build a career in Cloud Security? We're seeking a motivated and security-focused individual to join our team as a Junior Cloud Security Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on IT experience who wants to develop into a Cloud Security professional, working alongside experienced Infrastructure and Cloud Engineers. You'll play a key role in maintaining security operations, managing vulnerabilities, supporting compliance initiatives, and developing your skills across Azure, automation, and cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations Manage and coordinate Windows patching across servers and endpoints. Monitor and triage alerts from CrowdStrike and other security tools. Assess newly disclosed vulnerabilities and determine organisational impact.

Track remediation activities and ensure security findings are resolved. Support access reviews and security best practices across the business. Incident & Compliance Support Assist with the investigation and escalation of security incidents.

Maintain documentation, incident reports, and operational runbooks. Support compliance initiatives including ISO 27001, PCI DSS, Cyber Essentials Plus, and GDPR. Cloud Security Development Gain hands-on experience with Azure security controls and monitoring.

Develop knowledge of identity management, networking, and cloud security principles. Support automation initiatives using PowerShell, Python, and AI-assisted tools. Build exposure to Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD security over time.

Skills & Experience Essential Experience in IT Support, Infrastructure, Service Desk, Systems Administration, or Security Operations. Strong understanding of Windows environments and patch management. Exposure to security tools such as CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, vulnerability scanning, or endpoint protection.
